Las Brisas Rueda 2007,  Jorge Ordonez, Spain
Crisp bright blend of 50% Verdejo, 25% Viura, 25% Sauvignon Blanc.
Aromas of citrus and white pepper. Zingy flavors of grapefruit, lemon, and Granny Smith
apples. Medium light body, lingering finish. A beauty.
Chicken casserole with couscous,
spinach and goat cheese or Feta.
Shellfish or white meats.

Chardonnay 2008,  La Noble. Languedoc-Roussillion, France
Lively, fruit-filled, no-oak Chard.  Fresh green apple, thyme, and clover in the nose lead
to a bright, juicy palate with a silky texture and refreshing finish.
Grilled fish fillets.
Braised chicken thighs with leeks and green grapes.
Roogle Riesling 2008, Marquis Philips. Western Australia
A very pretty riesling, stunning for the price. Floral, fruit and citrus aromas and flavors,
with mineral notes. Ripe peach flavors. Just lightly sweet. Bright and refreshing.
(Interesting, fun label presentation. What is a Roogle, anyway?)
Sushi. Seafood. Asian dishes. seafood bisque. A perfect "welcome spring!" aperitif.
Côtes du Roussillion Villages 2008, Bila-Haut , M. Chapoutier. France
A great southern-Rhone blend of Grenache, Syrah, and old vine Carignan. Beautiful
dark ruby color. Rich dark berry, blackberry and black cherry aromas and flavors.
Terrific balance and length.  Versatile food wine.   Grilled  sausages, vegetables.
Steak with mushrooms & shallots in a wine sauce.
Val Do Bomfin 2006, Dow. Douro Valley, Portugal
Ripe dark fruit with hints of toasted oak and earthy tannins and dark chocolate
A fine expression of the character of dry red
Portuguese wines.
Rich, expressive, full bodied red wine, a blend of traditional Portuguese grapes:
Touriga Franca 40%, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) 25%, Tinta Barroca 20%, and Touriga
Nacional 15%. Vale do Bomfim reflects the new style of wines from the northern
 Douro Valley.
Wonderful with  hearty dishes: beef stew, venison, herbed roast chicken.
Portuguese pork shoulder stew with red peppers. Full flavored cheeses.

Petite Sirah Culinary Series 2006, Guenoc, Langtry Estate. Lake County, California
Full aromas & deep flavors of  blackberries, red raspberries, baked blueberries and  plum with
floral hints of violets & roses and black pepper notes. Oak ageing (both French and American) gives notes of vanilla & spice and contributes to the complexity of this delicious, robust wine.   Smooth tannins lead to an extraordinarily long finish. One of our long-time favorites!
